Once a Broncho...always a Broncho!

Preparing for the Upcoming Season

  • Work diligently in class, on homework and study for quizes and tests.  HS athletes - The MHSAA mandates that you pass 66% of your course work.  Holly mandates 80% which equates to 4 of 5 classes.  Additionally,Holly raised the bar even more...we expect our athletes to maintain a 2.0 gpa.  Academics should be your primary focus...if they are not and if you fall behind, you will not earn the opportunity to participate in sports.  Grades are checked mid-trimester and at the end of each trimester.  MS athletes - The MHSAA mandates that you are passing 50% of the full load.  Academically, it is a bit easier to compete at the MS level.  Athletes...be prepared for higher standards at the HS.
  • Get a physical and turn the form in to Mrs. Miller in the HS athletic office or Mrs. Collyer in the MS office.  This must be done before attending a tryout or practice session.  Physicals must be dated after April 15th of the previous school year.
  • ALL HS athletes must register for the sport of their choice in the athletic office (beginning one week prior the starting date) and prior to tryouts or attendance at a practice session.  (You can not register without a physical form on file.)  Good grades are a must too!
  • The HS registration fee is $125 per school year.  This fee should be paid prior to the first contest. The MS registration fee of $50 has been discontinued.  At the MS, the only fee is for the three sports not funded by the school.  They include: MS swim & dive, 8th grade baseball and 8th grade softball.

The Parent-Coach Communication Guide
One key element to a successful season, is good communication...both between athlete and coach and then between parent and coach.  Please review the Parent-Coach Communication for expectations and tips.

The 2013-2014 Student-Athlete Handbook
The handbook is coming soon...updates are being made to reflect new MHSAA academic policies.
